Welcome to The Country Cat, a delightful gem nestled within the bustling corridors of Portland International Airport (PDX). A favorite among locals and travelers alike, this restaurant offers a refreshing break from the hurried pace of airport life. Located at 7000 NE Airport Way, The Country Cat has established itself as a go-to destination for quality food and exceptional service, even in the face of adversity during the pandemic.

The menu is a testament to culinary creativity and comfort, featuring a dynamic selection that caters to diverse taste buds. Diners rave about the mouthwatering fried chicken sandwich — a juicy fried chicken thigh nestled between soft bread, and the unique chicken salad sandwich tangy with capers is a highlight as well. For breakfast enthusiasts, the smoked salmon eggs benedict and fluffy sunny-side-up eggs served with homemade sausage patties have received countless accolades. Sipping on a crafted cold brew coffee or an expertly mixed cocktail while indulging in these dishes makes for an unforgettable dining experience.
Customers have pointed out that although the PDX location may lack the quaint charm of its Southeast Portland counterpart, it more than makes up for it with its convenient setting and consistently high standards. A quick bite or a leisurely meal can be enjoyed here, without the feel of typical airport dining; it’s a place that feels like a city restaurant, offering great taste and value. While some mention pricing reflective of airport norms, the quality of fare — from peppered French fries to finely curated wine selections — leaves a lasting impression that transcends costs.
Despite some shifts in the post-COVID landscape, The Country Cat continues to uphold its reputation as a premier airport eatery. For travelers seeking a peaceful dining environment before boarding their flights, or locals wanting a good meal, this establishment remains a reliable choice. So next time you navigate through the airport, keep a lookout for the unassuming yet vibrant Country Cat — a culinary escape that promises to satiate your hunger and brighten your day.

A peaceful hideaway just after you clear TSA to enter the D and E terminals. Glad it's still here after the Pandemic! Today, I had a delicious turkey club sandwich on multigrain bread, accompanied by peppered French fries, with water and black coffee. Country Cat has always been,, and remains, my PDX go-to dining spot. Friendly, efficient folks with clean tables in a quick, efficient, but also unhurried atmosphere.

Selene is one of the best bartenders I've ever encountered. Not just airport bartenders, but best bartenders period. Friendly and professional, she made there time enjoyable and had great suggestions for food and drinks. She's literally THE BEST!

Nice relaxing place to grab a bite before or after your flight. Wine selection was nice and the waitress/bartender selene (everything girl) was running around helping everyone with a smile and had so much patience with everyone for being slammed !

We love the Country Cat in SE Portland. The PDX Airport location is a welcome stop before flying out. It has a full bar with many specialty drinks. The food selection is good, and it has the same quality and flair as the SE location. The service is fast and friendly and considerate of tight schedules. Not as quaint as the SE restaurant, but great for an airport restaurant.

Lovely restaurant with a concise but varied menu of absolutely delicious food. The fried chicken sandwich was my favorite and I was pleased to find that it was a fried chicken thigh instead of the usual chicken breast. Moist and delicious and perfectly fried. My wife really enjoyed her chicken salad sandwich that had capers which was a unique salty twist that worked so well! Thanks for a great experience!

Food was good, priced a little high but that kinda how it works at the airport. I had the aptly named "The country cat" did a great job making my sunny side up eggs, The home fries were yummy and the homeade sausage patty was pretty delicious. Also got the puff half caf cold brew coffee which was very yummy and not very bitter which is good cuz it did not need much sweetener. The only gripe I can say is they didn't have decaf. But that's not a deal breaker.

Had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict with some Stumptown coffee. Really good. Bill came to 15 before tip. Service was friendly and quick. 5:30 A.M. breakfast - no worries about missing my flight.

Country Cat pre-COVID wes THE best airport bar/eatery on the planet. The chow was great and the bar was legit. It didn't feel like an "airport" restaurant. The quality, price and service were on par with a city restaurant. Now it's pre-made food with a small bar. It's so sad. I would like to understand what happened. It's also before security now. I used to get through TSA and hang at Country Cat. Dang. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars. - VanPort Insider.
